Siena guided Tour

Classic and Thematic Itineraries

Siena, my hometown, is a treasure trove of history and beauty—less crowded than Florence but just as captivating. As a tour guide, it’s not only my job but also my passion to share its wonders with you. I offer a variety of tours tailored to different interests and levels of familiarity with the city.

If it’s your first time in Siena, I recommend a classic city tour that covers the most iconic landmarks: Piazza del Campo, the Town Hall, and the Cathedral. In addition, we’ll explore scenic viewpoints, such as the Basilica of San Clemente in Santa Maria dei Servi, San Domenico, and the peaceful public gardens of Orto dei Pecci and Orto dei Tolomei.

For those who already know the city’s highlights and want a deeper dive, I offer thematic itineraries, including:

  • Siena and Her Women
  • Siena and the Cult of the Virgin Mary
  • Siena and Her City Gates
  • Siena and Her Fountains

These routes take us through medieval alleys that open into unexpected squares and hidden streets, often overlooked by standard tours.

On request, we can also visit a Contrada, exploring its headquarters, church, and museum. Some Palio banners housed in these museums were painted by internationally renowned artists like Botero and Guttuso, offering a unique artistic perspective on this historic tradition.

For art lovers, I can guide you through the Pinacoteca, the Cathedral Works Museum, and the Civic Museum, where you’ll admire masterpieces by Sienese artists Simone Martini and Ambrogio Lorenzetti, alongside works by Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. We will also explore Santa Maria della Scala, one of the oldest hospitals in the world, home to stunning frescoes and an intriguing archaeological site.

Finally, if you’re curious about Siena’s medieval past, a visit to the State Archives will reveal the city’s history through the beautifully illustrated covers of the famous Biccherne (record books).
